Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maria has a background in philosophy and creative photography. Her work as a cinematographer includes short dramas such as "Plagium," executive produced by Joe Wright (Atonement). Maria directed and produced the short film "Cry For All," which was selected for ArtWiki, the 7th Berlin Biennale, and was distributed worldwide by Shorts International UK.
As a Director of Photography, Maria utilises both digital and film cameras, continuing to engage in photographic projects, darkroom lab techniques, cinema lighting, and Unreal Engine. Her portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects, including documentaries, commercials, short films, and music videos. She has collaborated with other filmmakers, artists, and organisations, such as Asian Performing Arts UK, to create innovative and engaging visual content. Maria is passionate about exploring new forms and methods of storytelling and is always eager to learn and develop her skills and knowledge.
Maria is currently pursuing an MA in Discourse Analysis at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studies the semiotics and philosophy of film and media.
She received the Warner Media Award in 2022 to complete the postgraduate certificate for Virtual Production at the National Film School UK, where she learned to use cutting-edge technology and software to create immersive and realistic environments using Unreal Engine and shooting in volumes.. By combining her academic and practical experience, Maria offers a unique and versatile perspective as a cinematographer.
Her solo exhibition "Buenos Aires 2001: A Culture Under Siege" was nominated for the KG± Award at the prestigious international festival Kyotographie in Kyoto, Japan, in 2018.

She also works as a cinematography mentor for the outreach program at the UK National Film School and Ghetto Film School, an organisation that promotes inclusion for young diverse filmmakers.
